Understood. Any tool can be used illegitimately or poorly by the inexperienced person.

Cool tool, really handy, used wrongly for the job of cutting bread. Does not mean its a bad tool, or that its design was poor for the job it is good at.

Also, you make a very good sub-point about what inexperienced are taught. You should write more about that point.

They are taught badly, because for the most part, they are either not taught by anyone, or they taught by the inexperieneced. That's becuase half of us in this industry are completely inexperienced (less than 5 years experience).
